- A father of three young boys, Kevin Ngo brought the concept of three entrepreneurial goblin siblings to share, while their individual names and traits were randomly generated from our tables.
- What is this character’s name? - Sisters Rosewald Daybrace and Arili and brother Finn Wheatley.
- What is their ancestry (i.e. human, elf, dwarf, halfling, etc)? - Goblin.
- What is your job or role (i.e. farmer, hierling/mercenary, shopowner, bandit, etc)? - Underground Tavern Owners / Resource Monopolists. Sick of watching their fellow goblins get slaughtered as low-level dungeon fodder, the siblings established a safe-zone pit stop/canteen built around a vital subterranean water well. Operating on a strictly enforced "John Wick Continental" rule where all violence is left at the door, they sell absurdly overpriced water (5 gold pieces a bucket) and charcoal-grilled turkey legs to adventurers, monsters, and dungeoneers alike. Specifically, Rosewald is "the money", Arili is "the muscle", and Finn is "the cook".
- How old are you? - Young Adult. All three siblings are young, energetic, and driven by a desperate refusal to end up as adventurer statistics.
- Describe your physical appearance. - They are three bipedal, big-eared goblins with large, expressive Pathfinder-style silhouettes. The three siblings present a sharp, well-dressed contrast to typical ragged dungeon goblins. Rosewald Daybrace: The sharp, business-minded sister. She wears a clean, modified serving dress taken off a child's mannequin and carries a heavy, custom-built mechanical coin-dispenser apparatus strapped to her waist that doles out change at the press of a button. Finn Wheatley: The aspiring chef brother. He wears an oversized leather apron, a tall white chef's hat, and brandishes a charcoal grill, frying pan, and tongs while dreaming of high culinary art. Arili: The muscular, pious enforcer sister. Built tough and sturdy, she wears practical leather armor, wields a sharp scimitar, and keeps a watchful, intimidating eye on the well to ensure patrons follow the house rules.
- Describe yourself with 3 adjectives. - Determined (to survive), Entrepreneurial, and Clever. (Individually: Rosewald is Miserly/Calculated, Finn is Ambitious, and Arili is Pious/Devout).
- What is a valuable item/piece of lore/secret that this character possesses? Or do they value an ideal/concept or particular person (i.e. family member, guild member, honor, justice, love etc.) - Rosewald's Ideal: Absolute Business Neutrality. She believes coin knows no ancestry; all creatures (vampires, adventurers, orcs, and goblins) are welcome as long as they pay. Arili's Ideal (Faith): Devout Goblin Piety. She takes the goblin pantheon and honor code deeply to heart, quoting scripture to keep unruly patrons and hired goblin guards in line. Finn's Secret Lore: Origin Stories of the Mortal Ancestries. Finn found a collection of old history books alongside a cookbook in a ruin, granting him deep knowledge regarding the origin stories and cultural habits of every playable adventuring ancestry.
- What is a particular quest you would be willing to recruit or hire the player characters to go do? - The Dine-and-Dash Recovery. A pack of unruly gnolls disrupted the tavern's peaceful atmosphere, flipped over a table, threw a smoke bomb, and fled deep into the dungeon without paying for their 100-gold-piece turkey legs and water buckets. Because dining and dashing violates the sacred honor code of their establishment, the siblings hire the party to track the gnolls down and recover the unpaid tab.
- What would be their reward for succeeding? - The Free Feast & Franchise Goodwill. The siblings immediately reward the party with a free, high-end roast turkey leg and a bucket of clean well water. More importantly, as the siblings' business expands and franchises into other dungeon complexes across the realm, the party gains lifetime prestige, priority service, and valuable subterranean intelligence from every branch of their enterprise.
- What would be the consequence of failure or refusing the call? - Loss of Reputation. If the party refuses or fails to retrieve the tab, the siblings suffer no direct financial ruin, but the tavern's strict rules lose their terrifying bite, causing future dungeon patrons to treat the party with cold indifference and denying them access to valuable local rumor networks as the business grows.
Optional Questions - not required
- What are the goals and motivations of your character? - Their primary collective goal is financial independence and long-term survival, escaping the cycle of violence that consumes most goblin clans. Finn specifically dreams of one day leaving the dungeon to open a legitimate food cart in a major surface metropolis.
- How do these affect your general personality? - They are resourceful, practical, and highly adaptable. Rosewald treats every conversation like a financial ledger, Arili maintains a stern, pious authority, and Finn remains perpetually enthusiastic about culinary flavor profiles.
- How do you normally interact with your family/friends/peers? With your enemies/rivals? With people who work for you/report to you? With player characters? - The siblings operate as a tight-knit corporate unit. They hire other local goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears as bouncers and kitchen staff, keeping them strictly in line through Arili's scripture-quoting discipline and Rosewald's precise payroll tracking. They treat adventurers with eager, polite customer service as long as house rules are respected.
- Do you have a particular accent or language? Any idiosyncrasies in how you act and speak? - They speak Common and Goblin in fast, chatter-heavy, entrepreneurial tones. Rosewald constantly clicks the mechanical buttons on her coin-belt, Finn gestures wildly with his cooking tongs, and Arili rhythmically taps the flat of her scimitar against her palm whenever someone argues over water prices.
- What impact have you made on the world? How have you shaped the local area? - By establishing an enforced neutral sanctuary inside a dangerous dungeon, the siblings created an unprecedented subterranean crossroads where mortal enemies sit side-by-side in peace to eat roast turkey legs, fundamentally altering local dungeon ecology and safety dynamics.
- Do you have any current problems that prevent you from being a bigger player on the stage? - They are constrained by their environment and startup scale. As a fledgling popup business operating out of a dark dungeon corridor, their immediate reach is limited to local dungeoneers, requiring time, outside capital, and customer goodwill to successfully franchise their business across the continent.
