- The guests brought a collective concept based on Greek/Slavic fate mythology, using their five-member cosplay group to personify the five temporal aspects of Fate.
- What is this character’s name? - The Five-Sided Fates (Individual Aspects: Creation, Morality, Chaos, Love, and Death)
- What is their ancestry (i.e. human, elf, dwarf, halfling, etc)? - Creation (KC): Tabaxi. Morality (Astrid): Tiefling. Chaos (Alyssa): Aasimar. Love (Ola): Human. Death (Jeri): Moon Elf / Pallid Elf.
- What is your job or role (i.e. farmer, hierling/mercenary, shopowner, bandit, etc)? - Cosmic Aspect Personifications / Demigods of Fate. Operating as a collective extra-planar entity, the Five-Sided Fates weave, monitor, and sever the threads of cosmic destiny across the multiverse. Rather than acting as benevolent rulers, they are fallible, meddlesome, and opinionated lesser deities who run mortals through Herculean trials when individuals attempt to change their destiny, resurrect dead companions, or break unbreakable magical contracts.
- How old are you? - Timeless / Ancient (They exist outside of time as personified concepts).
- Describe your physical appearance. - Creation: A golden-furred Tabaxi dressed in gold silk with black face markings, carrying a large sewing needle used to weave the beginning of Fate's thread. Morality: A red-skinned Tiefling with antelope-like horns curving toward the sky, dressed in red-and-gold chiffon gowns, carrying a leather-bound book containing every mortal's moral quandaries. Chaos: A radiant Aasimar warrior with long blonde hair, teal-accented gold plate armor, wings, and a wild Polymorph Greatsword. Love: A simple, beautiful human girl in traditional Polish floral garb, wearing a woven flower crown and carrying enchanted, love-imbued apples. Death: A pale, raven-haired Moon Elf draped in flowing black-and-gray silk robes adorned with living, blinking eyeballs (a Robe of Eyes). She carries long, ornate golden-black shears to cut the thread of life.
- Describe yourself with 3 adjectives. - Creation: Curious, Creative, Feline (Cat-like). Morality: Meddlesome, Nosy, Forgiving. Chaos: Whirlwind, Hot-headed, Intrigued. Love: Passionate, Kind, Fickle. Death: Stoic, Unforgiving, Serious.
- What is a valuable item/piece of lore/secret that this character possesses? Or do they value an ideal/concept or particular person (i.e. family member, guild member, honor, justice, love etc.) - Creation's Item—Ioun Stone Cat-Bell: Wears an Ioun Stone of Intellect as a bell on her collar. Morality's Lore—The Book of Receipts: Holds a book detailing every secret, scandal, and morally gray decision made by mortals and gods across history. Chaos's Item—The Polymorph Greatsword: A weapon that randomly transforms targets into different creatures or objects on a hit. Love's Item—The Enchanted Apples: Magical apples imbued with potent love potions that can be traded for things a mortal cherishes. Death's Item—The Shears of Fate & Robe of Eyes: Possesses a Robe of Eyes (Passive Perception 26) and the ornate shears that permanently sever mortal lifelines.
- What is a particular quest you would be willing to recruit or hire the player characters to go do? - The Gauntlet of the Fates. When an adventuring party seeks an impossible task—such as altering a predestined apocalypse, breaking an unbreakable warlock pact, curing a mind flayer tadpole, or retrieving a soul from permanent death—a glowing door opens, pulling them into the Gauntlet of the Fates. The party must traverse five distinct trial chambers, appealing to or overcoming each fate's philosophical test (Creation's open-ended puzzle, Morality's literal Trolley Problem, Chaos's randomized class combat, Love's sacrifice/seduction test, and Death's ancestral confrontation), culminating in a boss battle against their Custom Five-Sided Fates Stat Block.
- What would be their reward for succeeding? - Reality-Altering Miracles & Wish. If the party clears all five trials and either defeats or convinces the Fates during the final battle, the Fates grant their ultimate desire—rewriting destiny, granting a 9th-level Wish spell, casting True Resurrection, or granting an artifact needed to save the world.
- What would be the consequence of failure or refusing the call? - Cosmic Banishment or Extra-Planar Hell-Run. If the party refuses the call or fails the gauntlet, the Fates do not simply slay them. Instead, they warp the party's reality—either shunting them into an alternate "mirror" universe where time runs backward, or dropping their souls into the deepest layer of the Underworld to fight their way back up through Hell.
Optional Questions - not required
- What are the goals and motivations of your character? - Their collective motivation is maintaining the cosmic balance of destiny while satisfying their individual curiosities and philosophical whims through meddling in mortal affairs.
- How do these affect your general personality? - They interact like a volatile divine pantheon: Creation is hyper-curious, Morality is a gossip-hungry observer, Chaos is an unpredictable instigator, Love fluctuates wildly across emotional extremes, and Death remains cold, clinical, and unshakable.
- How do you normally interact with your family/friends/peers? With your enemies/rivals? With people who work for you/report to you? With player characters? - As a group, they bicker, tease, and balance each other out. Around mortals, they speak in booming, multi-layered divine tones (Thaumaturgy), demanding that adventurers prove their worth through wit, conviction, or combat prowess.
- Do you have a particular accent or language? Any idiosyncrasies in how you act and speak? - They speak Common, Celestial, and Sylvan in grand, theatrical cadences. Physical idiosyncrasies include Creation fidgeting with her needle, Morality frantically taking notes in her ledger, Chaos constantly shifting her stance, Love tossing floral petals, and Death staring unblinkingly with the dozens of eyes on her robes.
- What impact have you made on the world? How have you shaped the local area? - As the personifications of Fate, they are the silent architects behind every major historical event, empire's fall, and heroic prophecy across the Material Plane.
- Do you have any current problems that prevent you from being a bigger player on the stage? - They are bound by their own divine jurisdiction. They cannot directly intervene in day-to-day mortal events unless a mortal actively seeks an audience, prays for intervention, or performs an act of world-shattering consequence.
