Building a world, one character at a time.

Orjid Dragrax

  1. Hybrid / Mix-and-Match. Jacob brought a pre-existing concept parameter (a sorcerer character styled after Yu-Gi-Oh's Red-Eyes Black Dragon) and used a mix of on-air improvisation and random table rolls
  2. What is this character’s name? - Orjid Dragrax (pronounced OR-jid dra-GRAX). In his younger, less mature adventuring days, he went by the humorous pseudonym "Joey Wheeler."
  3. What is their ancestry (i.e. human, elf, dwarf, halfling, etc)? - Black Dragonborn (Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer with Red Dragon heritage).
  4. What is your job or role (i.e. farmer, hierling/mercenary, shopowner, bandit, etc)? - Fairy Hunter & Seasoned Quest-Giver. Orjid is an elder Draconic sorcerer who spends his days hunting, tracking, and containing meddlesome Fey creatures across the realm. Operating out of urban hubs, he recruits or hires younger adventuring proxies to deal with regional Fey infestations, disarming trickster threats or offering radiant bounties to keep local communities safe from Fey interference.
  5. How old are you? - Elder (An aging Dragonborn with battle-tested experience).
  6. Describe your physical appearance. - Orjid is a tall, gaunt, and imposing Dragonborn standing over 6'5" tall. He features dark black scales accented by fading, rust-red markings across his hide, piercing red eyes, and chipped, battle-worn horns from decades of fighting Fey magic. Inheriting physical traits from his Red Dragon bloodline, he possesses a tail and full Draconic wings, though he keeps his wings folded or magically concealed beneath his traveling cloak so as not to startle urban crowds.
  7. Describe yourself with 3 adjectives. - Gaunt, Tall, and Imposing.
  8. What is a valuable item/piece of lore/secret that this character possesses? Or do they value an ideal/concept or particular person (i.e. family member, guild member, honor, justice, love etc.) - Secret Lore—The Best Hamburger in Town: After long, exhausting hunts dealing with chaotic Fey magic, Orjid relies on a simple comfort to decompress and recover: he knows the exact secret location of the absolute best, greasiest tavern hamburger in every major city he visits. Valuable Items—Sorcerous Oddities Hoard: Because he does not use martial weapons, Orjid hoards an extensive collection of un-leveled magical relics, Ioun Stones, and scaling artifacts taken from Fey creatures, which he freely trades to adventuring proxies in lieu of gold.
  9. What is a particular quest you would be willing to recruit or hire the player characters to go do? - Fey Eradication / Containment Bounties. Orjid acts as a radiant quest-giver for parties dealing with Fey troubles. Being an elder who cannot trek across rough wilderness as quickly as he once did, he hires adventurers to track down specific Fey tricksters, disrupt Fey crossings, or retrieve stolen magical artifacts.
  10. What would be their reward for succeeding? - Scaling Artifacts & Gold. Orjid rewards parties with gold or lets them choose from his private hoard of magical oddities—including powerful, scaling magic items that he personally has no use for as a spellcaster.
  11. What would be the consequence of failure or refusing the call? - Consequence of Refusal / Hostility: If a party is outright hostile or rude to him, Orjid's sorcerous temper flares, threatening to incinerate them with Fireball or Draconic magic. Consequence of Failure: Lost Bounties & Relentless Oversight. If a party fails a bounty, Orjid withhold rewards and insists on personally shadowing them on future missions until the Fey threat is neutralized, deeply suspicious of any Fey pacts or magic lingering on the party.

Optional Questions - not required

  • What are the goals and motivations of your character? - Orjid's primary goal is protecting mortals from being duped or harmed by trickster Fey and Archfey pacts. His secondary motivation is enjoying a peaceful, quiet retirement paired with a good meal after a successful hunt.
  • How do these affect your general personality? - He is a cynical, stubborn, and battle-hardened old spellcaster. While he possesses high natural Charisma (Rizz), he has zero patience for Fey trickery or naive adventurers making raw deals with Archfey patrons.
  • How do you normally interact with your family/friends/peers? With your enemies/rivals? With people who work for you/report to you? With player characters? - He interacts with younger adventurers with stern, "whippersnapper" impatience, though he is willing to mentor those who show promise. Around Fey creatures or Warlocks with Fey pacts, he becomes hyper-vigilant, highly suspicious, and manipulative to uncover their true motives.
  • Do you have a particular accent or language? Any idiosyncrasies in how you act and speak? - He speaks Common and Draconic in a gravelly, authoritative elder tone. Physical idiosyncrasies include flexing his clawed hands to conjure small sparks of flame when annoyed, adjusting his cloak to hide his wings, and constantly sniffing the air for Fey magic.
  • What impact have you made on the world? How have you shaped the local area? - Orjid has spent decades purging regional Fey threats around major cities, establishing a reputation among local taverns and Mages' Guilds as a reliable authority on Fey containment.
  • Do you have any current problems that prevent you from being a bigger player on the stage? - He is limited by his advancing age and physical speed. His aging frame prevents him from chasing down fast, mobile Fey across multiple planes alone, forcing him to rely on outside adventuring parties to execute his field hunts.
